A fact-check desk for fitness advice

FitClaims collects the fitness claims that spread on social media and checks them against the best published evidence.

What this is

Short videos make fitness rules travel fast: a gram of protein per pound, ten thousand steps, never skip the cold plunge. Some are right, some are half right, and some are wrong in ways that cost people time or money.

For each claim we read the meta-analyses, systematic reviews and official guidelines, then explain what they found in exactly six sentences, with the key numbers drawn as charts and every source linked. The method page sets out the rules.

How it’s made

Pages are written and drawn by go4 with AI assistance (Claude, by Anthropic), and checked against the linked sources. Every number is checked against the abstract or full text it comes from, and the charts are drawn by code from the published estimates. No text or figures are copied from the sources.

We don’t name or quote the people who post a claim. We check ideas, not creators.

Independence

No sponsors, no supplement deals, no affiliate links and no ads. If that ever changes, this page will say so first, and paid placements will be labelled where they appear.

General information only, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, talk to a clinician before changing your training or supplements.
